IBC 2012

by Press Office

At this year’s IBC, deltatre will showcase its brand new Digital Sport Production Units as well as a new sophisticated logging workflow.

Designed and built in partnership with Sony, and exhibited in the OB van area, these highly technological multimedia vans represent a key element for deltatre’s production of some of Europe’s most prominent sporting events.

Located and operated directly on venue, the units cater for every aspect of the results system service. They are equipped to offer a portable infrastructure for the delivery of local services as well as a link to the deltatre Operation Center, allowing the information to be spread to remote users.

deltatre, Vidispine and Mediasmiths are pleased to announce their collaborative showcasing of a new sophisticated logging workflow on Saturday 8th September at the Adobe Broadcast Pod.

deltatre is demonstrating the key features and added value of a fast turnaround production logging product, and is showcasing its integration with the Adobe® Prelude™ CS6 software through a content panel and logging interface. To complete the workflow from logging to content management and repurposing, Mediasmiths has developed a custom panel to integrate  the Vidispine MAM and their own easy to use GUI into Adobe Prelude.

“Adobe works with the best in broadcast,” said Simon Williams, director of strategic relations at  Adobe. “Our collaboration with deltatre, Vidispine and Mediasmiths will provide users with a sophisticated end-to-end logging workflow presented in a simple and convenient way.”

The logging tool offers range of valuable features including the ability to attach Global Metadata to clips; manually create participant and production-specific Vocab Panels; create unlimited Timecoded Log Markers using a mix of Basic Vocabulary shortcuts and free text, as well as the option to send sub-clips to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 with all associated metadata.

Through Mediasmiths’ panel, Vidispine uses a flexible approach to integrate with the logging tool so the video content and log data can be stored, searched for, repurposed at will using the powerful Vidispine software transcoders, and made instantly available for use in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and After Effects® CS6 projects. The power of the Vidispine MAM middleware is made available via a rich but very simple to use user interface, developed by Mediasmiths, and amongst others, in daily use by hundreds of students at the University of Salford’s brand-new media teaching and research facility at MediaCityUK in Manchester, UK.

Please visit the Adobe Broadcast pod on Saturday September 8th and a representative from the teams will be pleased to help you explore the innovative benefits of the complete logging workflow, specifically dedicated to facilitating fast turn-around event workflows.
