As the sports industry converges on Monaco to mark the start of the Sportel Conference, industry leading media and technology firm deltatre has announced an agreement to develop a second screen application for one of Canada’s preeminent broadcasters. In partnership with London-based second screen platform specialists Monterosa, deltatre will provide a rich tablet app to complement broadcast coverage of February’s sporting action in Sochi.
deltatre began servicing North American broadcasters in 2008 when Beijing played host to the world’s largest sporting event. Since then, the company’s activities on the continent have evolved to see it consistently providing products and services biennially each time the world’s spotlight turned to the sporting stage. Whether summer or winter events, deltatre has its finger on the pulse; powering multi-lingual event driven websites, providing real-time competition results using Podium, deltatre’s results product, and developing event specific mobile apps that keep fans engrossed in the action.
Leveraging its extensive experience in sports along with its expertise developing mobile and tablet apps for the likes of STAR Sports and the IAAF, deltatre will create a powerful enhancement to television broadcasts and capitalize on Monterosa’s second screen platform LViS Studio. By merging the content management capabilities of deltatre Forge and Monterosa’s API-driven LViS Studio, the partners will furnish one of Canada’s preeminent broadcasters with an intelligent second screen app that captivates fans with up-to-the-moment results and multi-media editorial content relevant to the day’s programming.
Second screen expert and deltatre Chief Product Officer Carlo de Marchis, said, “deltatre has a great tradition of providing clients across the globe with first-to-market solutions to maximize the value of their sports rights. Working with Monterosa, we are pleased to expand our offering to provide a complete digital solution including a cutting-edge second screen user experience.”
Commenting on the collaboration, Tom McDonnell, Commercial Director at Monterosa, added, “LViS Studio is providing deltatre a powerful cloud platform on which to build their groundbreaking second screen sports experiences. By partnering on this great opportunity, our client is getting a winning combination of sports expertise and a decade of second screen experience from deltatre and Monterosa.”
