Hereunder is the official press release issued by the UCI announcing the launch of its new on-line portal.
The UCI today announced a partnership with the company deltatre for the future launch of its new Internet platform. deltatre will accompany the UCI in the conception, the launch and the direction of its new on-line portal which will be up and running this summer.
The agreement with deltatre, sports specialists chosen by the biggest International Federations to provide digital solutions, is in line with the UCI’s wish, driven by President Brian Cookson, to modernise and develop cycling using up-to-date tools, new technology and the latest means of communication. Thanks to this collaboration with deltatre, the future Internet site will be the showcase of our sport, promoting the whole range of activities for all our disciplines.
With deltatre, the UCI means to highlight cycling’s sporting heritage, for example leading events on the calendar such as World Championships and World Cups, and promote the commercial appeal of cycling for all sportsmen and sportswomen.
UCI Director General Martin Gibbs said: “I am delighted by this new partnership which will bring expertise to our digital strategy. Our member Federations as well as fans and the whole cycling family are expecting us to be at cutting edge of innovation and to provide maximum visibility for our Federations, events and partners. With deltatre we will fulfill their expectations.”
Chief Commercial Officer International for deltatre, Ciaran Quinn, said: “Passionate about cycling, sport and digital media, I am personally thrilled to be working with UCI to help them connect to cyclists, fans and stakeholders around the world. We will bring our experience, enthusiasm and professionalism to UCI, as we do with other top international sporting properties to help them use digital media to connect to the world.”
