ATP Media, the broadcast arm of the ATP World Tour, has selected sports digital and broadcast firm deltatre for the redesign and relaunch of TennisTV, ATP Media’s direct to consumer live streaming service which streams over 2,700 ATP World Tour and WTA tennis matches a year.
The new product suite will launch in January 2017 – for the new tennis season – and will deliver a rich, holistic experience across web, mobile and a comprehensive list of streaming media devices pioneering consumer accessibility in the digital age.
“This is a significant step forward to present tennis in new and meaningful ways to our fans. It is important for ATP Media to take TennisTV to the next level to capitalise on the latest viewing trends of streaming media and OTT consumption. With the help of our new partner deltatre – and their great tradition in sports innovation – we are in an excellent position to expand the global footprint of tennis further and these developments are part of ATP Media’s commitment to evolve the tennis viewing experience for fans around the world.” – said Stuart Watts, COO at ATP Media.
deltatre will provide its enhanced and interactive video player, Diva, that will offer TennisTV customers top tennis matches throughout the season whether these are streamed live or are made available on-demand as full replays in an enhanced match archive. The solution will combine HD streaming, integrated stats & data, multi-court coverage and a wide-ranging classic match archive on all platforms.
This will offer fans an immersive viewing experience on all devices without missing any of the action, no matter where they are in the world. Besides enhanced and improved experiences on desktop & mobile browsers and iOS and Android apps, TennisTV will premiere on streaming devices including Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, gaming consoles and Connected TVs.
“The TennisTV project will provide a fantastic showcase and example of the leaps forward our video platform has made into the ‘Living Room OTT’ space. The project is a perfect combination of ATP Media’s brilliant forward-thinking and ambition and our experience in delivering innovative, immersive video experiences on tablets, devices and connected TVs. Our aim is to make sports entertaining in everything we do and I’m really excited about doing this for all tennis fans.” – said Chris Catling, Managing Director at deltatre (UK).
