deltatre held its 6th Annual Sports Industry Charity Football Tournament this week in aid of the UK based charity School of Hard Knocks, raising over £2,200… and more than a few heart rates!
The 5-a-side tournament, supported by many of deltatre’s clients and partners, saw teams turn out from European Tour, SportBusiness, Sky Sports, Input Media, ITV Sport, IMG Media, England Rugby, ATP Media and Premier League this year.
ITV Sport finished in bronze spot; Input Media took the silver, with masterclass in 5-a-side football from the team representing the chosen charity, School of Hard Knocks, bringing home the trophy.
After the event we heard from School of Hard Knocks CEO, Ken Cowen, with regards to the great work that the School of Hard Knocks is doing to use sport to tackle issues surrounding unemployment, crime and health to help individuals to take responsibility and take positive steps forward in their lives.
Today Ken said: “I just wanted to a say massive thank you for all you did last night. It was so well organised – we were saying that so often, sports tournaments get out of hand timing wise, but this was a really tightly run event. More importantly of course from our perspective, all the deltatre staff were so welcoming, supportive and obviously fully behind the charity partnership. It was a great event to be at and that is nothing to do with the result! We are very grateful indeed.”
Chris Catling, Managing Director, deltatre UK said: “This was a fantastic evening of football, played in a wonderful spirit by all the teams involved. We are so grateful to our clients and partners for supporting us, and most importantly School of Hard Knocks. What a great cause and one we are delighted to be able to make a contribution to”.
