C4 Rio 2016 Paralympics wins Broadcast Digital Award

UK broadcaster Channel 4 won a prestigious Broadcast Digital Award.

The award for ‘Best App or Website for Channel, Strand or Genre’ honors the channel’s coverage of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Judged by some of the industry’s biggest names, the Broadcast Digital Awards celebrates the most creative and innovative digital content in the UK.

Building on the BAFTA Award-winning collaboration for the coverage of London’s Paralympics in 2012, Channel 4 and Deltatre joined forces again last summer to bring the Rio Games to British audiences in a totally new, digital way.

Fans have been able to choose among 10 concurrent live streams and interact with data overlays while watching their favourite events, for a personalised, beyond-TV experience.

One of the judges said Channel 4’s digital coverage of Rio 2016 Paralympics had “impressive on- and off-platform reach”, also adding that “it continues to be a channel-defining proposition.”

At Deltatre, we are proud to have formed part of the digital team who supported Channel 4 in this project. And we are modestly celebrating.
