Ref. VideoDev01 - Video Developer

Project: Complex software development program (composed by multiple inter-dependent projects) in the broadcast and broadband video development environment.

Profile: We are looking for an experienced application developer (3 years), specialized in video applications, Visual Basic .NET and Visual C++. Her/His role will be to cooperate with the Team Leader as well as developing complex application and base software modules, understanding the technical and functional complexity of the project.

Required Skills Technical Requirements:

• Excellent problem determination and analytic skills / experience
• Strong programmer skills
• Expert in video/audio encoding, compression, streaming technologies and digital media formats (mpeg2, IMX, DNXHD, H.264)
• Expert in video wrapping formats such as MXF and interoperability in general
• Expert in video metadata management
• Expert in designing and developing video workflows, and all related IT skills are required: network and storage engineering, video filename and metadata standards definition, XML and scripting, etc
• Knowledge of video conversion software (FlipFactory, Grab Networks, Rhozet, etc.)
• Knowledge of Content Management and/or Digital Asset Management is required (EMC DAM, Blue Order, Vizrt Ardendo, Final Cut Server, etc.)
• Development Environment: Microsoft based, .NET
• Demonstrable experience in developing .NET XML based applications
• Expert in SOA based integration of video based applications

Pluses:

• Knowledge of Windows IIS
• Knowledge of Microsoft Interactive Media Manager (IMM)
• Knowledge of Avid, Final Cut Pro and/or other media editing software
• High Speed File Transfer experience
• Good knowledge in video editing
• Understanding of file transfer protocols such as FTP, SFTP & WebDAV
• Knowledge of EVS products and technologies from a programmer’s point of view
• Knowledge of additional technologies (WMV/VC1, FLV, Microsoft Smooth Streaming)
• Experience in the designing of web sites and/or web applications
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft web technologies
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases

Preferred Experience / Education:

• Minimum three years experience in a medium to large production environment
• Experience working in video production for new media applications (broadband video player, mobile video services, etc.)
• Experience working in the broadcast environment
• Multitasking skills; an ability to work effectively and professionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, video, graphic design, or related discipline
• Fluent verbal and written English, open-minded, pro-active and flexible

Development Environment: Microsoft based, .NET

Location: Turin HQ.

Contract Type: full-time, to be defined.
