With the year entering its final phase, it’s time to reflect on and recognize just some of the many achievements that made 2019 an unforgettable year

2019 has been a year of unprecedented growth and exciting change. Towards the end of 2018, we entered the entertainment space – in turn, growing our client portfolio and developing new, fan-first solutions to change the way the world watches their favorite shows.

Our product suite includes best-of-breed solutions from video production and distribution to targeted UX. We’re the first choice for leading telcos, broadcasters, and content owners looking to deliver targeted OTT user experiences to their audiences across devices and at scale.

Working with the world’s best

As well as our entertainment customers, we continued to work with the biggest properties in sport, powering the experience for millions of fans. American Football, soccer, tennis, golf, basketball – plus many more disciplines and events have all been within our remit. We’re looking forward to bringing to life the biggest moments that will define 2020 too.

With a portfolio of more than 160 sport and entertainment customers, we’ve powered billions of minutes of sports and TV content to fans across the globe.

Constant innovation

We developed our vast and unique product and services capability and produced many of the top projects and products in our industry. Among the many stand-out moments include partnering with the Swiss Football League to enhance their match data collection, and BritBox selecting us to power the new OTT service with our targeted UX management platform, AXIS.

Award recognition

We were named Best Tech Company in November by SportsPro during the media organization’s global OTT Awards held in Madrid. It was a moment of great pride for the entire group, and our CEO Giampiero Rinaudo said: It is a testament to the hard work that our staff put in around the world and we’re delighted that has been reflected with this award.”

We were also shortlisted for the BaM 2019 Awards in September and more recently for the Best Media Company category at The IABM Awards 2019. Our Deputy CEO and CCO Andrea Marini was recognized as one of the Leaders Under 40 for the Class of 2019 in October. Plus, rolling back to this year’s IBC, our very own Lorraine Panman took the Technical Operations award in Amsterdam as part of the Rise Awards 2019.

Inclusion and diversity

We also welcomed the appointment of Katie De Paoli as our new Head of Inclusion and Diversity, a role that focuses on promoting and nurturing an inclusive working environment – one in which everyone feels valued and able to perform to their full potential.

Supporting our charity of the year

Our London hub partnered with CHECT, The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, chosen by our staff to be our Charity of The Year. Many fundraising events took place, including the ninth edition of our London summer football tournament where we were joined by clients as well as Paralympian Darren Harris.

Varied media presence

We gained hundreds of unique stories in the press, including in the International Business Times, DiversityQ, Hashtag Sports, TVB Europe, The Verge, and Sports Business.

SportsPro Media also visited our London and Turin offices. A compelling account of what we do to power the best live sports fan experience was published in the magazine as well as online. You can read it here.

Social media success

It was a year of success, with impressions and engagement rates up across all social media channels. Our LinkedIn page grew its followers by 35%, with 65% more visitors on a monthly basis than the previous year. Monthly impressions also grew by 175%.

A website relaunch

Our website was fully rebuilt and launched in September. We received great feedback, and the new portal represents the ‘go-to’ destination for users keen to discover our suite of solutions and products.

In just over three months, Deltatre.com welcomed more than 32,000 visitors. Our website is a window to the Deltatre world.

The Careers section is the most visited section, with 11,340 unique page visits since September (8.64% of the total). This year, applications rose by 15%. We are now more than 1,000 staff across 19 offices globally, we’re so proud of our diverse and highly skilled workforce.

Looking ahead to a bright 2020

It’s safe to say it’s been an incredible year, one full of exciting challenges and huge achievements. In fact, there are far too many to include in a single blog post.

We’ll have a brief rest before flying to the West Coast of the US for CES 2020 in January. The big event for the tech industry will be just a taster of a year that will continue to see us linked to the biggest sporting events and the most prestigious names in the entertainment space.

Thanks to everyone who has been a part of our journey this year. Have a great break, and see you soon.
