      Tony’s global role focuses on ensuring innovation is at the heart of the business’ work in web and apps. “The digital landscape is continually evolving which feeds my passion to keep innovating,” he says. “You don't want to work on the same thing day in, day out; you always want change – and the technology landscape allows you to do that.”

      Impacting the way the world consumes content has been key to Tony’s career since day one. Growing up in Gloucester, UK, he graduated in Business Information Technology from the University of Central Lancashire before starting work as a Graphics Operator with Formula One. A lifetime sports fan, the role was a clear way to enter a world where he could combine his professional life with his personal interests. “Formula One was a dream job at the time,” he says.

      After honing his craft, he joined Deltatre in 2006 as a Systems and Applications Manager. “To move somewhere dynamic that was growing while having the opportunity to get involved in many other sports was very exciting,” he says. He was responsible for managing the company’s broadcast and events technical team, working alongside customers including the BBC, ITV, UEFA, and Sky to bring their sporting events to life.

      Climbing through the ranks, he took on several new digital roles before being promoted to Senior Director of Onstage – EMEA in 2018, then President EMEA in 2019. It was his responsibility to lead the UK broadcast and events sector within the business; something that came naturally after first-hand experience working on the frontline of many of the world’s most-watched sporting events. “It’s an incredibly high-pressure environment, but that’s part of the enjoyment of it,” he says. “You work on such high profile events that you can then go home to your family and say, ‘Did you see that today? We did that.’ That’s a great sense of achievement.”

      Since he joined the company, he’s witnessed huge changes within the digital space. Today, he says, organisations are more conscious than ever before to go beyond the live event and really get to know their fans. They want to engage with them, and essentially; maintain a strong relationship. “The good thing about Deltatre is that we’ve always been very adaptable and able to stay at the forefront,” he says. “We’re innovative with how we approach things and therefore change is good for us because it always brings new opportunities.”

      As a manager, for Tony, building a team culture where people feel comfortable to share ideas is essential. Outside of work, he is a keen cyclist, and supports charities including Deltatre’s charity of the year, The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, with sponsored rides.
