Senior Manual Test Analyst

Engineering & Technology
India

Position

This role sits within Deltatre's QA function, supporting the OTT and digital products that power major sports and entertainment platforms worldwide. The team holds the line on quality across the software development lifecycle — from test design through release sign-off — for products used by millions of consumers across web, mobile, and connected TV.

As Senior Manual Test Analyst, you will combine hands-on testing with strategic thinking and team leadership. You will design and execute test cases, drive regression and release testing, mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers, and contribute to the QA processes and standards that scale across the function.

Responsibilities

Test design and execution

  • Design, update, and review test cases, ensuring strong test coverage
  • Execute test cases for user stories and features
  • Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing
  • Conduct exploratory testing to identify unexpected issues
  • Report defects clearly and track them through resolution
  • Retest fixed issues to ensure quality and stability
  • Analyse test failures, identify root causes, and provide timely feedback to the team

Collaboration and communication

  • Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Test Leads to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Participate in backlog refinements, sprint planning, release planning, and other Agile ceremonies
  • Attend technical reviews and workshops, providing QA input and feedback
  • Raise questions, suggest improvements, and escalate risks or blockers when needed
  • Act as a QA point of contact for stakeholders and support client communication when required

Leadership and mentorship

  • Guide and support junior and mid-level QA engineers
  • Provide coaching on technical topics, testing approaches, and best practices
  • Organise and deliver knowledge-sharing sessions and technical training
  • Contribute to evaluation reviews and team development

Planning, coordination, and ownership

  • Provide task estimations and contribute to sprint planning
  • Identify risks and communicate them proactively
  • Distribute and coordinate testing activities within the team
  • Track testing progress and ensure alignment with project timelines
  • Coordinate with PMs, BAs, and Dev Leads on priorities and deliverables
  • Support resource planning and contribute to longer-term QA planning

Process, quality, and documentation

  • Contribute to defining and improving QA processes and standards
  • Ensure adherence to QA practices within the team
  • Track and improve test coverage and quality metrics
  • Lead regression and release testing efforts; provide QA sign-off
  • Maintain test documentation and wiki pages
  • Prepare and review weekly, sprint, and monthly QA reports; provide clear status updates to Test Leads and QA Managers.

Requirements

You have led QA work in a real software delivery environment. You know what good test coverage looks like, how to spot the gap in someone else's test plan, and how to escalate a quality risk to engineering leadership without being dismissed. You mentor junior QA engineers by raising their judgement, not by doing the work for them.

Required

  • 5+ years' relevant experience in software quality assurance
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and defect management
  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding junior and mid-level QA engineers
  • Clear analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication and collaboration abilities
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Valued

  • Experience managing estimations and contributing to effort planning
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and manage QA-related risks
  • Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
  • Experience with performance testing (JMeter, Gatling, or comparable)
  • Experience defining or contributing to automation or performance testing strategies
  • Hands-on experience designing, updating, and executing automation and/or performance tests
  • Background in streaming, OTT, or media technology

Who Thrives Here

QA at Deltatre runs at the intersection of engineering rigour and operational reality. The products you test reach millions of consumers, and the quality decisions you make have consequences during live events and major broadcast windows. The work rewards QA engineers who care about the small details (the edge case the developer didn't think of, the regression that is three sprints away from being noticed) and who can hold the longer-arc view of test coverage as a discipline, not only as a sprint metric.

A good Senior Manual Test Analyst at Deltatre tends to be honest about quality risk without being doom-laden, generous with the developers they work alongside (they fix things together rather than only reporting bugs), and disciplined about the test documentation and artefacts that make the whole team faster over time.

Process and what to expect

  • Introductory conversation: a step for us to get to know each other better, and for us to answer all questions you might have around Deltatre.
  • Codility assessment: a structured assessment on the Codility platform that you complete in your own time. It gives us a hands-on view of your technical capability and we use the results as a basis for the technical conversation.
  • 1-hour Technical round of Interview: we will deep dive on your experience and on the Codility assessment, and explore the QA decisions and approaches you have used in your past work.
  • 1-hour Competency Based Interview: we will ask you situational questions around how you deal with real-life scenarios at work. Easier doing it, more than explaining it.

If any of these formats would be difficult for you, tell us — we adjust regularly and can usually accommodate.
