Position

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager in our UK office, the Finance Manager will manage the accounting and have responsibility for the finance function of the Indian Branch.


For this role you must be able to work on a hybrid basis with at least 2 days working in the Mumbai office in Goregaon.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Month end closing processes - journal posting, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of statutory financial information (Indian Year End 31/03) with group reporting package (Group Year End 31/12)
  • Review of bookkeeping including sales ledger, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliation
  • Lead on year-end statutory audit and tax audit
  • Management of one direct report
  • GST compliance – working with external advisors to ensure monthly and annual returns are correct and lodged and paid on time and accounting records reconcile to lodgements
  • Remittance of monthly tax deducted at source
  • Preparation and filing of Quarterly Return of Tax Deducted at Source and ensuring accurate records are maintained including following up for TDS certificates and reconciliation of the TDS with accounting records and forms
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
  • Preparation of advance tax instalments calculation, annual income tax return, deferred tax calculation, for review and finalisation by external advisors
  • Supporting external advisors with transfer pricing review and compliance
  • Reviewing payroll (prepared by external provider) and ensuring payments are processed and payroll is recorded and reconciled in the accounting records monthly
  • Working with local advisors on the monitoring of corporate secretarial compliance, including Shops and Establishment, annual forms Form FC-3 and Form FC-4
  • Reporting to the UK Head Office and wider Finance team as required, and reporting information in the necessary format
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Ensure accurate cashflow planning and communication of requirements to Head office
  • Ensure alignment of financial practices and processes with global standards
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • IT literate with excellent Excel skills - confidently uses SUMIFS, SUMIF, COUNTIF, lookups, pivot tables, and can manipulate large quantities of data and summarise
  • Team player - confident in mentoring junior staff members
  • Previous experience in global company
  • Knowledge of Tally required
  • Knowledge of Netsuite (ERP) desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience within technology/media sector desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and ethics
  • Thrives in a global, multi-cultural corporate environment
