Position

As a People Operations Specialist, you will play a key role within the Global People Team, serving as the dedicated resource to oversee all People operations for our Skopje hub.

You will be supporting managing a broad range of HR processes, including recruitment administration, onboarding, compliance, payroll, leave and attendance, benefits administration, and HR data management.

This office-based position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of Macedonian labor law, payroll, and employee administration. You will be accountable for HR compliance, documentation, and day-to-day support for the team, while also acting as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the hub, ensuring that all employee data is handled in accordance with data protection regulations. Your reliability, discretion, and proactive mindset will be key to maintaining a smooth and compliant working environment.

Reporting to the CountryManager, you will also collaborate closely with other Global People Team members and cross-functional stakeholders to support seamless execution of people related activites.

Responsibilities

  • Local HR Compliance: Ensure all People practices fully align with Macedonian labor law, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Payroll Ownership: Manage monthly payroll processing with external providers, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • HR Administration: Maintain and update the HRIS system; ensure all employee records are accurate, up to date, and inspection-ready.
  • Employee Lifecycle: Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Talent Acquisition: in collaboration with the Group Talent Acquisition team, you will support the process in North Macedonia, actively sourcing candidates and managing first introductory calls following group best practices.
  • First Point of Contact: Serve as the main contact for employee questions around policies, contracts, benefits, and internal procedures.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits, including health insurance and any locally relevant perks.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the workplace adheres to legal and internal health & safety requirements.
  • Data Protection Officer: Act as the official DPO for North Macedonia, ensuring full compliance with all local data protection laws. Be accountable for maintaining, and enforcing data protection policies and practices.
  • Audit Readiness: Keep all archive - company and People documentation and processes organized and compliant for potential audits or inspections.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Country Manager and global People teams to ensure consistent People practices and strong employee experience.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in People operations, administration, or a generalist People role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Macedonian labor law, payroll practices, and employee administration.
  • Familiarity with data protection laws and experience managing data privacy policies (DPO certification or prior experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using HRIS systems.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential data.
  • Strong communication skills in both Macedonian and English.
  • Previous experience in an international company is desirable.
