We are seeking an experienced Finance Specialist to temporarily fill the position of maternity leave backfill for 12 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the general accounting and finance operations of our legal entity in North Macedonia, ensuring accurate recording and control of financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily bookkeeping across all accounting areas, including Cost and Accounts Payable, Bank Transactions, Fixed Assets, Monthly Prepayments, and Accruals
• Maintain an up-to-date monthly general ledger within the Group ERP (Oracle Netsuite) and prepare comprehensive financial reports in accordance with the Group calendar for submission to HQ
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable, ensuring timely monthly reconciliation of the AP register
• Prepare bi-monthly payment runs based on due dates, coordinating with the Country Manager for approvals and setting up payment proposals in the banking system
• Manage communication with banks and financial institutions
• Prepare and manage monthly intercompany invoices
• Conduct weekly bank reconciliations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications in collaboration with other Group functions (Procurement, Office Management)
• Coordinate with Office Management regarding payment terms and travel reimbursements
• Book payroll costs based on communication received from the external payroll provider
• Collaborate with external accounting and tax consultants for tax compliance and the preparation of financial statements
• Perform other ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as required

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, and Controlling, preferably within an IT/Tech environment
• Fluent English is a must, both spoken and written
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
• Good knowledge of North Macedonia Local GAAP
• Familiarity with North Macedonia VAT law and tax regulations
• Experience with general ledger functionalities and the month-end/year-end closing process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software; experience with Oracle Netsuite is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
