Deltatre in three words: Open, friendly, challenging

Please tell us about yourself!

I was born and raised in Most, northwest Czech Republic, where I also studied at the Secondary Technical School.

I’ve always liked computers and tech in general, which is why when I found this job, I was excited as it appealed to my interests.

What does a ‘typical’ working day in your life look like?

When I wake up, I turn on all my communication apps and start getting ready for the office. When I get there, I check if any tickets have been newly assigned to me and I work through them – either by myself or with the appropriate people. Then I go through my routine morning stand-ups and meetings.

For the rest of the day, I keep an eye out for any new tickets, while helping out and learning how to automate tests or exploring new devices.

Can you tell us about a stand-out or memorable project or moment?

For me, it would have to be rolling out the text to speech accessibility feature for the DAZN project. I was responsible for testing it, and when it hit production successfully, it was a great feeling.

Do you have any hobbies? Do they influence your professional life?

My hobbies are quite standard, like gaming, TV shows and working with computers. I also like to go to the gym (when they are open of course).

What was it about the job and the company that made you want to apply?

The company was recommended to me by a colleague/friend from my old job. What made me apply was that, thanks to him, I already knew what the job was about and that there were great people working here, along with the fact that it was focused on streaming services.

What’s your favorite part of your role?

When I get the time to test the apps or help other people with their issues.

What are your biggest learnings since you joined the company?

My biggest learnings have been about the whole industry. For example, I’ve learned a lot about how streaming services work, how much work goes into them, and how the devices operate – ranging from small set top boxes all the way to high end TVs.

The company is really open and accepting of people.

Why should new recruits want to work with us?

Because it’s easy to fit in and the company is really open and accepting of people, always giving everyone a chance. It’s great that they let you work with specialists where you can learn a lot of things about your job, but also improve your life skills because there’s such a diverse community with people from different kinds of places and backgrounds.

What is it about the future that excites you?

It’s the influx of big-name projects. It’s great being able to see a commercial somewhere and say: “Hey, I worked on that!”
