Office: London, UK

Year joined us: 2018

Deltatre in three words: Professional, visionary, people-oriented

Tell us about yourself!

I was born 32 years ago in Turin, Italy. I was raised with an international background as my mother is American and my father is Italian. After finishing my studies at school in Turin, I then decided to study law at university where I passed my bar exam. I’ve also achieved two master's degrees, one at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and the other at Queen Mary University of London in London.

I started practicing law at an international law firm in Turin and Milan whilst supporting international clients, and I then ended up as a Legal Counsel of a multinational company based in Amsterdam and Turin. Whilst in London, I was hired by Deltatre as a Senior Legal Advisor and joined the Wimbledon office in June 2018.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in law?

It was mostly based on enjoying a good argument with my friends and girlfriend – I felt I was good at it! I figured that being a lawyer would help me refine these abilities and ensure I could use the power of debate in a positive way.

What’s a ‘typical’ working day for you?

As part of Deltatre’s legal department, you’re required to address all corporate (Board of Directors, shareholder meetings, etc.), commercial (contract negotiation, etc.) and compliance (privacy, etc.) matters. I’m mostly focused on contract negotiation and, therefore, I spend most of my day discussing contracts both with internal stakeholders and with clients.

How did you come across the company?

I’ve always been interested in sports (football, mountain sports, and basketball) and I also always found technology very appealing, so I couldn’t find a better fit. I applied for the role through a recruiter in London and later found out that the company was born in Turin and dealt in sports and tech. What can I say? It was meant to be.

What’s your favorite part of working with us?

I love the fact that no two days are the same. You always have different tasks, challenges, and achievements. Also, I deal with people from different geographies and backgrounds so there’s always something to learn.

Are you involved in any social aspects of the company?

Yes! Obviously, things are a little different at the moment, but usually I attend our Friday wash-ups in our Wimbledon office where people share what they've been up to over the past month and drink a beer amongst colleagues. Also, I have a good personal relationship with my colleagues and meeting socially is very frequent!

Do you have any hobbies?

I love snowboarding and I am always looking for the best powder snow track around. Also, I’m very passionate about food and wine.

Whatever your level, your word counts and you see the impact of your work every day.

What are your biggest learnings since joining us?

My colleagues in the legal department, Elena and Federica, have been in the business for a very long time and I am incredibly grateful to them for the knowledge they’ve passed to me. I’ve learned various aspects of negotiating a contract against big international companies and that you need to adapt your strategies based on the geographies you’re working alongside.

What is it about the company that you believe sets it apart?

We’re very flexible in the way we deliver our first-class products – not many players in the industry are able to accommodate such a wide range of asks from clients and in such a professional manner.

Why should new recruits want to work with us?

The amount of empowerment and responsibility that the company grants its employees is mind-blowing. Whatever your level, your word counts and you see the impact of your work every day.

What is it about the future that excites you?

Both the company and the industry are growing immensely. Everyone is contributing to this growth and I find it exciting when you can always see that there’s a next step to take. Nothing is ever static.
