The role required will be focused primarily on our digital operations hosted in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Alibaba Cloud .

The Cloud Engineer will be part of our ongoing software development and operations, they will be part of the team helping the developers in the continuous integration, deployment, monitoring and testing of the code.

They will be responsible for the design of the cloud infrastructure following the architectural pattern defined by the architects with the possibility to contribute to their definition; they will configure and manage virtual machines, storage, and networking in public and private cloud environments.

The position requires an ability to interact and work very closely with the other DevOps, Cloud engineers, SRE team and architects.

As a technology company, Deltatre uses the latest technology to run its services in the cloud, so we are looking for people who are passionate about Cloud technology and are excited to learn and use the latest toolsets and techniques. We are using containerization, serverless computing and platform-as-a-service offerings from the major cloud vendors to run our services delivering websites and video to audiences on a global scale.

Given the role of supporting live sports events, candidates must be available for occasional work during weekends and evenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and management of cloud system architectures guaranteeing high availability, top performance and reliability being involved in continuous operation and improvements.
• Guarantee continuous integration and continuous delivery of our software, using a GitOps approach.
• Design and management of container-based hosting environments on Kubernetes.
• Management and configuration of CDN systems, load balancers and caching to offload network traffic and manage load.
• Support incidents and problem management to identify root cause and fix, define and put in place improvements to avoid the problem occurring again.
• Interact with customers, understanding their requirements, and help them to find the best technological solution for their needs.
• Analyze and improve systems' performance & scalability and automate systems management.
• Undertake regular reviews of IT security vulnerabilities related to infrastructure, participate in remediation work to reduce the infrastructure attack surface.
• Provide 3rd-line support where required in an on-call roster covering one or more of our applications.
  

• Good knowledge of IaaS and PaaS offerings (Primarily Azure, AWS, secondarily GCP, Alibaba).
• Experience with systems & services monitoring tools and in log analysis.
• Experience with DevOps best practices.
• Knowledge in orchestration of Docker containers (Kubernetes preferred)
• Ability to express and understand complex technical concepts.
• Being able to effectively communicate in English (spoken and written).
• Experience with microservices architecture and Kubernetes applications.
• Experience with Cloud Automation and infrastructure provisioning tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Fluency in automating manual jobs using scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python preferred).
• A passion for modern technology and the emerging media landscape

Bonus knowledge

• Experience with Content Distribution Networks (Akamai highly desirable)
• Knowledge of best practices for cloud IT security
• Knowledge of NoSQL database (MongoDB preferred)
• CKA Certification.
• Linux server management
• Interest in sport
