Deltatre extends GAA's digital evolution with FORGE platform

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Ireland’s largest sporting organization, and Deltatre, a global leader in digital and streaming solutions, are celebrating a new multi-year agreement signed following a complete redesign of the GAA’s digital experience.

Signalling a strong future for the GAA's online presence, the investment in Deltatre's FORGE platform reinforces its commitment to innovation, strengthening fan engagement with the same cutting-edge technology used by other high-profile organizations like the NHL, MLS, NFL, MLB, DP World Tour, Juventus FC, and Atalanta BC.

Recently deployed updates to GAA.ie are already delivering measurable improvements in user engagement. These enhancements include a redesigned navigation system and the introduction of a mega menu that clearly categorizes content and guides visitors to key sections, resulting in a significant reduction in bounce rates and noticeable increases in both average time on site and page views.

"The GAA plays a key role in Irish culture, and our digital presence serves as a vital resource for our supporters, players, volunteers, members, coaches, officers, the media, and so many others," said Alan Milton, GAA Director of Communications. "Ensuring quick access to the specific information that each unique user wants is essential, and our collaboration with Deltatre has once again achieved this."

"We're proud to be bolstering our partnership with the GAA as it accelerates its digital transformation," said Peter Bellamy, Chief Revenue Officer at Deltatre. "Our FORGE platform is providing the flexibility and scalability needed to meet their ever-evolving demands, ensuring that the GAA team can continue to enhance the way they connect with their extensive community."

With significant traffic from mobile visitors, responsive web was a major focus for the new deployment, and the homepage was refreshed to reflect today's design standards and best-practice mobile UX. More filter and search controls have also been introduced, enabling end users to self-serve results from a broader range of Leagues and Championships, reflecting support for grassroots and elite-level County games and tournaments alike.

Additionally, the introduction of an infinite scrolling pattern delivers users an enhanced browsing experience across the GAA's wide range of competitions, whether looking ahead to future fixtures or back at older results.

The GAA became a Deltatre client in 2016, and this announcement marks the latest milestone of innovation in their ongoing collaboration. Visit GAA.ie to experience the new platform, and learn more about Deltatre and FORGE at deltatre.com.
