Case Study
Challenge
In 2019, athletics was falling behind others in the industry in terms of branding, data visualization, and innovation. World Athletics leveraged Deltatre's experience, technology, and know-how to re-imagine how their fan’s viewed athletics, with a bold new brand, exciting new data points and a new dynamic graphics pack that allowed the viewer to follow the action as it unfolded.
Our solution
Our Athletics results system and graphics playout solution continuously support World Athletics events, ensuring quality on the field and from the gallery. We deploy our hardware, software, and delivery team directly at venue, working closely with WA and the LOCs to create a bespoke installation for every event. With multiple kits and a large team of experts, we can cover events across the globe, managing overlapping calendars. Our graphics and software team continuously integrate and implement new data points and new visualizations into the service to keep World Athletics at the cutting edge of sporting broadcast.
What Deltatre provided
Deltatre provided comprehensive broadcast graphics design, development, and delivery for World Athletics. This included live competition graphics for up to nine simultaneous feeds and World Feed editorial graphics for enhanced storytelling.
We also incorporated augmented reality for six cameras and ensured graphics output in both HD and UHD. Our services supported on-venue and remote workflows, facilitated data collection and management for the World Athletics Data Hub, and provided data via Broadcast Data Feed (ODF) and broadcast API. Additionally, we offered a CIS system, printouts, bib printing, and a social media graphics platform.
