Challenge

SailGP, with Oracle and LiveLine were producing over 1200 data points per boat at every event around the globe. They needed a partner who could access and manage this data in real-time, accurately and robustly, and create a production pipeline to generate compelling visual stories for their live broadcast. SailGP needed to manage the whole process from a remote production centre and quickly build a team of knowledgeable and professional broadcast operators who could deliver in a fast paced environment and be able to quickly deploy new additions and upgrades to the broadcast experience at every race.

Our Solution

Deltatre created a bespoke customization for their Magma graphics platform to access and manage the vast data set coming from SailGP. At the same time, we created a complete front-end view specifically designed for SailGP events. Our design team worked closely with SailGP to create a new visual language to help tell the story of the live events, surfacing and communicating a multitude of data points to excite and engage fans, old and new alike. Finally, our team of broadcast engineers, operators, developers, and supervisors built and operated a brand new install at SailGP facilities in West London ready to launch and maintain this exciting new series.

What Deltatre provided

We provided comprehensive broadcast graphics design and management, including the creation of a complete broadcast graphics pack tailored to our client's needs. We delivered live race graphics, featuring a dynamic left widget available in three languages for multi-region broadcast. Our World Feed editorial graphics were crafted to enhance storytelling, making each individual broadcast uniquely engaging and informative.
We also delivered sophisticated studio graphics for wrap-around studio shows and highlight segments, ensuring a polished and professional look. All our graphics were output in high definition and our fully remote workflow allowed for seamless and efficient production processes, regardless of the location of the races.
