Our Deltatrees forests are growing!

As we grow as a company, ensuring we leave a positive footprint on the world remains vital to us. That’s why we’re delighted to have joined forces with Treedom for the second year, an important initiative that has enabled us to plant 2,260 trees – and counting!

In 2020, our ‘Deltatrees’ forests first took root in Tanzania and Cameroon. To thank our staff for all their hard work in a socially useful way, we gifted each of them a cacao tree on their work anniversaries. The trees, which grow with them during their Deltatre journeys, were planted by local farmers in our forest in Cameroon.

And to celebrate our journey together, we gifted avocado trees to our clients. The trees, also planted by local farmers, are growing in our Deltatrees forest in Tanzania.

The trees we’ve chosen to plant can absorb 265,750kg of CO2 from the atmosphere – enough to fill 1,384 trucks! And as well as offering environmental benefits, the cocoa beans and avocados that grow will provide the farmers with an additional income source.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we’ve renewed our commitment to Treedom and will be gifting a second tree to our 1000+ staff distributed across our hubs in 15 key cities. The trees will be planted in Cameroon, Tanzania, as well as within a new Deltatrees forest in Madagascar.

Since Treedom launched in 2010, more than 1m trees have been planted in Africa, South Africa, and Italy. Every tree is photographed and has its online page so our staff and clients can keep up to date on its progress!
