Highlights

  • [05:38] On the importance of design for organizations: “More often, now, clients come to a conclusion organically, as they go through the process. Design is a killer application that can differentiate you in the marketplace. If you look at the industry as a whole, when you look at Apple, Google, Facebook… You probably don’t argue that they come across as design-led organizations. And this is a big part of their growth and huge status now.”
  • [18:52] On the problems a Design Hustle can solve: “What type of problems do we solve? Well, when we look at the industry and the types of clients we work with, there are a number of things that they're looking to do within their business. And it could be something around a better focus on their own service, their own ecosystem, their own products. It could also be about how they then take back to the next level in a competitive environment.”
  • [28:00] On how operators in sport and entertainment can maximize the value of their relationship with an external provider: “…by not necessarily focussing on the ‘what’. It’s more about how you get there. And that’s where design can come in and be the differentiator. The way to go about that is by really having design at the beginning of the process. That’s where the impact is made. Once you get that framed, the end destination is going to be reached more easily.”
